Where is the blower motor relay on a F53?

Posted By: C-Leigh Racing on 03/31/10 08:30pm I’ve found the blower motor relay, its in another fuse box outside under the hood. If I understand a relay, it is for operating the high speed side of the fan.

How to test a F53 chassis heater blower?

To test the relay check for continuity between post 30 and 87. It should show no continuity or OL on the meter. thats your switched contacts. Then check between 85 and 86. This is the coil side that energizes to move the contacts. It should be around 50-100 ohms if my memory serves me correctly, its been a while since electrical class.

What are the knobs on a 99 chassis?

This is a 99 chassis & the heat & air control has three round knobs. One for the fan speed, one for the temp & one for a/c or heat & which vent you want to air to blow out of. Posted By: suppok on 03/29/10 10:26pm

Where is the heater wire on my F53?

Check the wire on the heater box under the dash on passenger side. Right under the glove box. I think it is a red wire about 12 guage and on my F53 it has been pulled loose a couple of times by some one’s foot from the passenger seat.

Why is my heater not working on my F53?

OH MY GOD, it is the blower motor messed up, cause its getting 12V but not working. Was able to pull one of the vents out on the front of the dash & kinda got some access to the blower motor wires, ol test light lit right up when the switch was turned on.

What is the power feed on a F53 heater?

Looking at the schematic for that year f53 the blower motor power feed is a brown wire with orange stripe. I dont suspect the blowermoter resistor because typically they will only work in some speeds and not others.

When does the blower motor come on on a F53?

As far as the blower motor it should come on anytime the key is on and the fan speed knob it on regaurdless of it being on air or heat. Looking at the schematic for that year f53 the blower motor power feed is a brown wire with orange stripe.

Where does the air from the blower come from?

1. The blower motor runs great. 2. The air is coming from the Vents at the windshield for defrosting. 3. If I turn the mode switch, to indicate air to the feet, that works but only in the position for air to feet and defrosting. 4. If the switch is turned to indicate air to face and feet it defaults to just defrosting at the windshield.
