Where does the fuel line go in a generator?
I replace the fuel filter and hit the start button for a good 30 seconds and the clear fuel filter shows NO sign of fuel being drawn from the line that goes up into the top of the tank (I’m assuming that is where the generator fuel line goes, as I cannot follow it once it goes up to the top of the fuel tank).
Why is my 1990 fuel line not working?
Your 1990 fuel line could now be defective due to moving the tank. If so they should give you a big break on replacing it as they should have suggested that before the work started. ie Replace all fuel lines that would require the tank to be moved. Regardless: If it’s a fuel line problem then this time have all lines replaced.
Can a generator run an empty fuel tank?
Engine starvation problems can result plus it would then be possible for the generator to run the tank empty. Most fuel take-off assemblies on RVs with a van chassis like yours will have a separate tap on the take-off assembly you can use.
What to do if there is no fuel in the tank?
If this doesn’t tempt you (heh, heh) visit your local marine store and buy a primer bulb such as those used to prime an outboard motor and use that to ‘suck’ on the line. All the above assumes there is no fuel pump in the tank to feed this line. If there is, all bets are off!! Posted By: crawford on 08/11/09 03:00pm
