What to do if your Allison shift pad has no power?
If no power when the key is on check the small post, if only one it should be positive (Hot with the key on) or if two small post one is hot and one is ground (with the key on). If you have power to th small post but still only have power to one side of the solenoid then you have a bad solenoid.

Why is the do not shift light not lit up?
Nothing is lit up on the shifter pad, and the do-not-shift light stays on. The tach does not work — sometimes if you rev the engine it will go crazy but does not work right. Does anyone have ideas that I could check out? Stuck in Oklahoma. Try disconnecting the battery and reconnecting. Use the Intelletect switch if you have one.

Suggest you call Allison service for help how to correctly check for power and ground. the Allison is all electronic and will not work when voltage drops too low less than 10 volt .If you can verify you have the power you can dig further.

Jeff, you are correct about the Allison ECU getting power DIRECTLY from the chassis battery without any switch of any kind. Many coaches, but not all, get that connection directly at the chassis battery terminal. If that wire is not making a good connection, you will have intermittent or dead shift pad readout.
