Is the GM 454 a throttle body injection?
I’mpretty sure Tim’s is a throttle body injection like mine. These look like a carb but are far from it. For that period it was GM’s answer to a carb and I think they worked better than a carb, but they came with their own problems. I’m having problems with my engine which is a gen 5 454 tbi 220 model made in 1992.

Stock TBI 454 makes 230hp and 380tq so stock fuel pump is maxed out right off and a typical 454 will run better with a fuel pump upgrade even with stock chip. GAS MILEAGE. Always a big complaint with 454 TBI trucks. 90 and older is particularly bad and that is largely due to NO OVERDRIVE.

Is there a bigger throttle body for a TBI?
Larger throttle body. and both offer a 54mm bored 750/800 cfm throttle body. unless you change out the tiny cam your not going to get a benefit from a larger throttle body. Also not going to get any benefit unless the intake is bored to match the throttle body.

What is the TBI code on a 1990 Chevy truck?
