How can I identify my step on my Kwikee?
To properly identify your step, measure the mounting bolt pattern front-to-back and side-to-side. Compare the measurements with the drawings on our Step ID Charts.
What does warm motor mean on Kwikee step?
With Kwikee that is detected by the control board when the motor stalls due to reaching the stops and no position switch is involved. A warm motor would seem to imply that the power didn’t shut off like it should when the step reached the stop in the store position.
What should the override switch on a Kwikee step do?
If your step is equipped with an override switch, turn it to the ‘on’ position. The step should remain in the extended position with the under-step light ‘off’ when the door is closed.

Why are the steps on my Kwikee not working?
There are several possibilities that could do what you have now. One is the motor failed, another the control board has failed, or for some reason the motor does not know the steps have reached the stored position and the motor has not powered down.
