Can a Northstar camper be used off the grid?
Yes, Northstar campers are designed to be used as a “base camp” off the truck. Be sure the jack feet are all on firm ground, that the camper is lowered as close as possible to the ground and level. We recommend you carry 12” square plywood pads (or something similar) to set under the jack feet when you’re off the grid.

Where are the turnbuckles on a Northstar camper?
Either Torklift or HappiJac tiedowns will need to be installed on the truck, either by the customer or dealer before taking delivery. Turnbuckles (4) are what connect the camper tiedowns to the truck tiedowns. Northstar truck wiring comes out the rear of the camper and plugs directly into the 7 pin Bargman in the bumper area.

Most truck camper and RV manufacturers put their fresh tanks in the basement where you can’t access the tank. The tanks are literally sealed inside the lower body of the unit. Northstar Campers do not have basements and locate the freshwater tanks above the main floor.

The 2021 Northstar 12STC, our flagship hard side model, features three pop-up outlets. There’s one in the cabover, one on the back wall near the counter, and one in the kitchen. They are extremely convenient and easier to access. Northstar customers are going to love them.
