An API (Application Programming Interface) is a list of things you can do while working with it. Business buttons are the physical form in the API. You decide what you can and cannot do with the machine. APIs are used to integrate a website with an external website or software. This could be sending requests from the website to a CRM like Salesforce, or relaying the order status from an inventory/order management app to a website.
