Definition of Alternative technology:

1. Manufacturing or production methods that are less polluting and more resource efficient than the traditional methods.

2. Any form of technology which (especially in contrast to a mainstream alternative) achieves its desired aim whilst minimizing harm to the environment and the use of natural resources; such technologies collectively.
